“This administration is populated by people who’ve spent their careers bashing government. They’re not just small-government conservatives—they’re Grover Norquist, strangle-it-in-the-bathtub conservatives. It’s a cognitive disconnect for them to be able to do something well in an arena that they have so derided and reviled all these years.”

Doctor Hypocrite

From the Fly Trap:
The Center for American Progress has a new report on Bill Frist's use of the filibuster to block a Clinton judicial nominee back in 1996. What's more, when asked about it on Face The Nation late last year, at a time when he was denouncing the use of filibusters at every opportunity, Frist gave a rambling answer that implied he did it for reasons other than blocking the appointment of Clinton's nominee. But American Progress has evidence that Frist was part of a coalition using the filibuster to block the appointment because the nominee was "outside the mainstream of political thought."

Hypocrisy, thy name is Frist.
