Rumsfeld provides timetable to enemy, doesn't expect to win war on terror

President Bush, September 20, 2004:
Secondly, if we put an artificial timetable out there on withdrawal, all the enemies says is, we'll wait them out.

President Bush, September 30, 2004:
I know putting artificial deadlines won't work....You can't do that and expect to win the war on terror.

Donald Rumsfeld today:
"Our hope is that as we build up Iraqi forces, we will be able to relieve the stress on our forces and see a reduction in coalition forces over some period of time, probably post-Iraqi elections."
