Republicans continue to ignore public
Earlier I told you of Republicans who failed to show up for an Urban League forum in Virginia. Now the GOP has decided to ignore the voices of the elderly and infirm in Colorado:
Republican hopefuls in Mesa County left their challengers holding the bag Saturday.
All four GOP candidates, vying for the state House of Representatives and County Commission seats, skipped a noon forum that addressed elderly and disabled constituents' concerns.
If that weren't bad enough, Republican Charles Taylor decided to ignore everybody in North Carolina (via atrios):
On Monday, September 26, Patsy Keever joined people of Rutherford County to discuss her plan to bring good jobs and affordable healthcare back to western North Carolina.
Despite giving his word to the Rutherford Chamber of Commerce that he would attend, Charles Taylor was a no-show at the forum.
"I'm disappointed that Mr. Taylor refused to speak with the people of Rutherford County," said Keever. "The people here deserve a representative who will be up-front about his positions and listen to the questions and concerns of the people here."
It's just ridiculous that these candidates can't show up to listen to the people they claim to represent. Help out someone who does care here.
