What did Arnold know?

Let me see if I have this timeline right.

First, Arnold signs a deal with American Media to promote two of their body building magazines.

Then Arnold announces his run for Governor of California, putting him in a position to influence legislation that may affect the body building industry and well as the supplements sold in those magazines.

American Media then does seemingly everything in its power to "protect" Arnold during his campaign, including purchasing a video that shows Arnold groping women.

Unless there is proof that Arnold knew this sort of thing was going on and this then influenced his votes, I'm not sure how much of these stories you can pin on the Governor himself.
