More signs of Republican compassion

I noticed that there were a handful of Representatives actually voting "no" on the latest aid package for Hurricane Katrina. Oliver Willis noticed it, too, and since he had a computer he went and looked 'em up.

TAPPED notes that the President has decided to suspend minimum wage laws for the rebuilding of the Gulf Coast in as effort to cut the costs for the public. Of course, a number of people are advocating using those displaced by the storm to clean up and rebuild, meaning this is a double barrel shot in the foot to those folks.

And of course, if these folks rebuilding the south there don't make even minimum wage, they probably will qualify for welfare, meaning more money spent by the federal government anyway.
