Bill Frist, voice of reason

I could hardly believe it myself:

Although the federal review [in the Schiavo case] "was not as complete as we would like," Frist said, he still thought the courts were "fair and independent."

First he's willing to negotiate with Democrats to avoid the "nuclear option," now he's calling the courts "fair and independent." What's happening to Bill Frist?
