“This administration is populated by people who’ve spent their careers bashing government. They’re not just small-government conservatives—they’re Grover Norquist, strangle-it-in-the-bathtub conservatives. It’s a cognitive disconnect for them to be able to do something well in an arena that they have so derided and reviled all these years.”

Cincinnati Reds blogging

When Pedro took the mound, I thought it would be a long day for the Reds. Then Adam Dunn hit a three run homer.

In the bottom of the ninth, with the Reds down by two, I thought they played well, but it would still be a long season. Then Adam Dunn tattoos a two run homer. Randa follows with a solo shot, and the Reds win their first come from behind victory for the year, 7-6.

Hey, I'm happy they won. But if they rely on Dunn to have two HR days to win every game, it's still going to be a long season.

And everytime they beat the Mets, I feel it's sweet revenge for that darn playoff game so many years ago.

But for now, 1-0, tops in the Central. Go Reds.
