Bush's so called major address
I read the whole thing at work today and figured I printed out the wrong speech. All I had was another Bush stump speech that I assume was covered by the news networks while I blissfully slept. But it looks like I had the right speech, which was nothing more than a glorified stump. It's nice to see the strong decisive Bush took a whole week to come up with a rebuttal to Kerry from Thursday night. Of course, if you lie about it in a non debate setting, there is no one there to point out the lies.
Speaking of lies, I noticed he once again made excuses for rich people not to pay their taxes and tried to convince supporters that because of tax loopholes the middle class would suddenly be jerked into a higher tax bracket. I noticed that he mocked Kerry for 2 trillion dollars of spending without mentioning his own 3 trillion dollars in new spending. I noticed he lied about Kerry's positions once again on the war on terror. I noticed that he also admitted to the people he had a record in office, something I thought he'd try to get away from as quickly as possible.
There's more there, but I don't have the time. But I actually thought this was odd timing for a speech like this, as it gives the Kerry campaign two more days to parse through this mess and be quick to refute these claims come Friday and stay on the offensive. Because we all saw how quick Bush is on his feet.
