Wood County Republican Party chairman Rocky Peck was not happy when he spotted the large billboard subject above local GOP headquarters on Emerson Avenue Monday.

The billboard advertisement was asking voters to elect Democrat J.D. Beane to the House of Delegates in November.
Beane is the only Democrat among Wood County's five delegates and two senators at the statehouse in Charleston.

"I didn't like that," Peck said of having a Democrat ad tower above the GOP offices in the 3700 block of Emerson. Peck called Beane to express his dismay and disappointment.

Beane said it was not his decision to place the billboard ad over Republican headquarters.

He said the billboard company he uses made that decision.
