Echoes of Jimmy Carter
CNN Money:
[Energy Secretary Samuel] Bodman plans to detail a national energy conservation plan Monday, the paper reported. Among other steps that the plan will include is asking Americans to turn off lights, change thermostat settings, drive slower, insulate homes.
Bodman also noted that, based on preliminary reports, he foresees slight if any drops in heating oil and gas prices for at least six months. That coupled with increase talk of recession will not help most Americans sleep well.
*UPDATE* Carter, however, did not have the "Energy Hog." It will, no doubt, end up in the annals of history as one of the great failures of his presidency.
