New York polling has Spitzer, Clinton in the lead
Democrats are looking good in upcoming New York races:
The Siena poll had Spitzer topping Pataki in a hypothetical gubernatorial race, 51 percent to 35 percent. Other recent independent polls have had similar results. Giuliani is ahead of Spitzer, 49 percent to 40 percent.
In possible Senate races, Clinton tops Pataki 58 percent to 32 percent, and is ahead of Giuliani 52 percent to 43 percent.
"I think barring a miracle, Eliot Spitzer's going to be our next governor and George Pataki will either have lost in an attempt to run for a fourth term or will have retired gracefully and not run," Clinton adviser Howard Wolfson told Albany's WROW-AM radio, adding the numbers were "very, very bad news for George Pataki."
