Won't someone think of the children!
If I were a cynic, I would think that a story about Kerry taking the lead in an AP News poll and this story about supposed terrorist threats to school children were somehow linked. I would think that one story was released in order to divert and mute attention to the other.
Thank god I'm not a cynic. Seems like the folks at AmericaBlog are, however, as they note this quote by a Bush aide refering to his stump speech on Wednesday: "The strategy is aimed at stoking public fears about terrorism..."
But again, I'm not a cynic.
The important question in all of this is, "What does the Administration suggest I do to keep your children safe?" The answer, sadly, is the same thing you should be doing anyway, including looking for suspicious behavior and reporting it. The government also advises school themselves to do such wacky things as have locks on their doors and windows. I may try that at my own house to prevent an attack.
Now we just have to wait for the warning that Al Qaeda has been observing swing states for a possible terrorist attack and the only way to stop them is to vote Republican.
Oddly enough, one of the latest Instapundit posts is called Climate of Fear. It has nothing to do with trying to scare parents into voting for Bush, however.
