“This administration is populated by people who’ve spent their careers bashing government. They’re not just small-government conservatives—they’re Grover Norquist, strangle-it-in-the-bathtub conservatives. It’s a cognitive disconnect for them to be able to do something well in an arena that they have so derided and reviled all these years.”

Carl Cameron: Picture of paradoy that is FOX News

Josh Marshall has uncovered throughout the day that Carl Cameron has an anti-Kerry bias and is extremely unfunny, too.

More from Josh here, here, here, here, and here.

I'm sure conservatives will call for Cameron's resignation almost immediately. Maybe even propose a reality show having Cameron and Rather live together and see what happens. I think I'll write UPN...

*UPDATE* Pandagon does the work I thought to do, but couldn't stay awake for:
[Tim] Blair then echoes something I've been reading a lot on the conservative side of the blogosphere (Glenn does it too) - that Fox News running a bogus, overtly Kerry-bashing story was okay, because they retracted it and apologized for it. However, I'd like to quote someone Blair finds unimpeachable: Instahack.
No amount of after-the-fact lawyering can change that evidence of journalistic bias and ineptitude.

So, in Glenn's own words, it's not about apologizing and retracting it quickly enough. It's about journalistic bias and ineptitude. Would "accidentally" running a stupidly unfunny anti-Bush piece by CBS' assigned Bush campaign reporter be evidence of, say, the same journalistic bias and ineptitude?

Apparently not if they apologized fast enough.
