“This administration is populated by people who’ve spent their careers bashing government. They’re not just small-government conservatives—they’re Grover Norquist, strangle-it-in-the-bathtub conservatives. It’s a cognitive disconnect for them to be able to do something well in an arena that they have so derided and reviled all these years.”

Lies and the lying campaign ads in California

You've got to be kidding me:
The California Recovery Team's new ad... shows smiling men and women making pleas such as, "I want a big tax increase next year" and "Sacramento doesn't spend nearly enough of my money." The voice-over concludes, "This is how Sacramento thinks we think. They need a spending limit. Say 'yes' to 76, say 'no' to a tax increase next year."

California, and I know all of you are out there, so I direct this to the whole state: No one is talking about raising anyone's taxes. No one, that is, except for Arnold's side, and they are using it as a scare tactic because they know they are losing.

The legislature can't just vote to raise taxes and be done with it. It requires a 2/3 approval, something very unlikely to happen. After that, Arnold, the man who says we don't need new taxes, would have to sign it into law. Even more unlikely.

Don't reward dishonesty and fear tactics. Vote no on 76.
