Rebuilding New Orleans

Why should the government help rebuild New Orleans, Mark?
How about the fact that it is the biggest port city in the country and it's lack will have a great impact on the U.S. economy.

The problem is the country needs New Orleans. And if we don't rebuild it, it's benefits are gone. Therefore, for national interests, the national government should help rebuilding efforts. Of course, better planning and a smarter levy system is needed, but it's a no brainer that this city should be reborn.

One can only hope the Bush administration will be better at rebuilding New Orleans than it has been at rebuilding Iraq.
