Rep Meehan:Iraq policy is failing
Boston Globe:
U.S. Rep. Marty Meehan, who returned Saturday from his second visit to Iraq, said the Bush administration's policy is failing and proposed phased troop reductions that would leave a small force in Iraq by next year.
Speaking at a press conference at Logan International Airport, Meehan said the security situation had deteriorated since his first visit to Iraq in August 2003.
"Despite sending more soldiers and more money to Iraq, we are only seeing more violence," he said, according to his prepared remarks. "Our current policy in Iraq is failing."
