“This administration is populated by people who’ve spent their careers bashing government. They’re not just small-government conservatives—they’re Grover Norquist, strangle-it-in-the-bathtub conservatives. It’s a cognitive disconnect for them to be able to do something well in an arena that they have so derided and reviled all these years.”

Irony

Ralph Nader is challenging the vote in New Hampshire, asking the state for a recount because he believes that e-voting machines made by Diebold gave Bush 5-15% more of the vote than he should have received. Reports I've heard say he is looking into the same action in Ohio and Florida as well.

Four years ago, we all blamed Nader for keeping the Democrats out of the White House. Now he may be responsible for getting them there. Gotta love it.

And I would like to be the first to commend the Democrats on the Rovian style tactic of allowing Nader to run so he could challenge the votes in key swing states. You see, and this goes to everyone who is saying the party should fight harder, if the Democrats were out leading the voter fraud cry, they would be seen as sore losers and their place in the political world would be diminished. This way, they can stay above the fray while the people and Nader fight for the truth.

So lay off the party, but keep fighting the good fight. Don't forget that it is not about the party as a whole, but the individuals who make that party up. So keep up the good work.
