Ashcroft to ashes

Two thoughts on Ashcroft's resignation.

First, it takes incredible audacity to claim not only that you have succeeded in making America safe and secure from "crime and terror," but also to suggest that you are the one responsible for it. Some people will do anything to pad their resume.

Second, a known evil is sometimes better than an unknown. Someone on talk radio today suggested Ann Coulter would make the perfect Attorney General. I had to pull over and breath into a paper bag for fifteen minutes after I heard that one.
