Republican tricks to suppress the vote
It seems the battle in the final weeks will come down to not who can get the most voters to the polls, but how well Republican tricks to keep Democratic voters from the polls work. In Pennsylvania, Republicans filed a last minute request to move a larger number of polling places out of black neighborhoods. Said Matt Robb, Republican leader of the 48th ward in South Philly, "I'm just not going in there to get a knife in my back."
Now we've lived through the wave of calling Mary Cheney a lesbian as being insensitive. Surely a white man calling everyone who lives in a black neighborhood a murderer should evoke some outcry as well, right?
