For lack of a plan
After reading the Michael Gordon piece in the New York Times, it becomes obvious that the Bush administration thought the war in Iraq would be over by now, the troops would be home, and Karl Rove and George Bush would be smoking cigars by the fire and laughing at the futile attempts of John Kerry to poll above 30%.
What also becomes obvious is that the insurgency, the so called "unplannable" event which keeps us there could have been prevented with more troops and any kind of plan at all. Sadly, Bush ignored the warning calls of those around him, and because of his failures, 1101 or our soldiers are now dead, thousands injured, and unrest continues throughout the country.
And all for the lack of a plan.
