Miscalculations
Is it possible that a majority of Americans are tax and spend liberals at heart, especially when it comes to Social Security?
Sure is:
Some 62 percent "say fixing Social Security will mean benefit cuts or tax increases. If they had to choose, 53 percent would choose higher taxes, 38 percent lower benefits."
That means all those speeches Republicans give trying to scare America with a "Democratic" tax hike to increase solvency aren't working. In fact, Republicans once again come down on the side that a majority of American's oppose.
I love it when George Bush spends his so-called political capital on gifts for Democrats.
Oh, and Bush's progressive indexing proposal? Opposed by 54 percent of Americans.
