Colorado's wrench
Electoral Vote links to a story in the Rocky Mountain News about a ballot initiative that could change the election come November:
Colorado could become the first state to scrap its winner-take-all system of casting electoral college votes for president and replace it with one based on a percentage of the popular vote.
130,000 signatures were turned in, and if around 68,000 of them are registered voters, it becomes a ballot initiative. If it passes, it directly impacts Colorado this year. Current polling would give Bush 5 of Colorado's EV and Kerry 4, no doubt making Kerry a favorite to win the election.
Of course, Republicans know this, so the odds of it passing this or any year are slim. You can began debate of overhauling the electoral college system now.
